Twitter Pizza Fund

After the rough day that Twitter experienced yesterday, @kr8tr suggested buying the team some pizza for lunch.  Sounds like a plan.  I’m in contact with the folks at Twitter and we’re going to buy them pizza today.  I’m passing the hat around and you can show your love by donating below ($1 to $5 dollars would be great):

Update: If you donate, you are consenting to allow me to post your name (not email address) as a Twitter supporter. Contact me if you don’t want to be listed.

After we buy Twitter lunch, any remaining funds will be donated to charity.  We can discuss which charity on our favorite communications tool.

Update 2:  Thank you for contributing:

This is a great idea! I donated, of course. A great tie-in for Twitter Love Day. I hope others join, too.

Good idea, and I’m with Jennifer re: Twitter Love Day.

I donated, and perhaps you could mention something about community involvement and how we would appreciate them keeping us informed about downtime, etc. when it happens/after it happens. :)

And don’t forget to tell them about Twitter Love Day! :)

I will forward a link to this post & the comments to my Twitter contact at the end of the day. Hopefully they’ll be full and ready to sit back and read some of your thoughts.

Hoping it was just the re-energizing boost they needed.

But I’m still of the opinion that they really need a community representative whose sole job is to interact with the Twitter community and make sure things like yesterday’s outages and issues are understood.

Twitter is a great service & their people work hard – but it doesn’t come across that way when there’s nothing but static on the airwaves.

I’m glad to have chipped in a bit. I hope you all enjoyed the grub, but if they’re are any leftovers…

On to a more serious subject, please communicate better. I don’t expect your free, beta (it’s still considered beta, right?) service to be flawless, but I would appreciate a bit better communication and little less mystery about updates, service status, etc.

And in lieu of flawlessness, how about just some signs to indicate that, one day, Twitter really will be stable and reliable?

I hope the pizza was awesome. Twitter ROX and I am just plain excited to be a part of it in the early stages. Am passing it on to all my friends as fast as I can. Thanks for the hard work!

I agree with Mike. I think Twitter could go a *long* way by sharing its plans for the future. I’ve never seen a roadmap, never known what’s next. Alex from Twitter mentioned something yesterday on Twitter-Dev about a next version. Why isn’t any information shared with us? We’d feel a lot better if we knew something better was coming.

I’m including a link to Twitter Love Day, so they see it:

Agree with Mike & Shannon – Communicate with us more! Let us be advocates for you. We <3 you, Twitter.

It’s okay to have a different opinion, but sign your name to it. Otherwise you’re just a troll, and a cowardly one at that.
