Flash 9.0 was released last night. Why am I so excited? Because I’ve been working with Flex 2.0 Beta for the past few months and I couldn’t let anyone see the app unless they had the beta version of Flash. The installation for a user was a nightmare.

Even last night, when I saw the official switch to the new version, I thought there was something wrong. All the colors were washed out of my app with the new player and some of the spacing was off. It turns out the final version of the GA product was just different enough that I had to perform a few tweaks to get the app to work. Nice, Adobe. I guess we won’t have any rogue beta developers out there.

Now I can finally start feeling more comfortable rolling out a Flex app. After I swallow the, gulp, price for Flex Builder 2.0.
