Marin Headlands
Took the family to Fort Cronkhite this weekend and had a fantastic time. What a beautiful place. Then we went over to the aptly named Pt. Bonita Lighthouse. As we pulled up to the parking lot, there were all kinds of emergency vehicles and park rangers. A fisherman had fallen over the edge of the cliff. My five-year-old son was pretty freaked. He kept saying, “I hope he’s not dead. Do you think he’s dead?” We finally saw the ambulance pull out with lights flashing, so I’ll pray that the man will survive.
I highly recommend Pt. Bonita. You walk through a tunnel that’s been blasted through the hillside, and if the winds are below 25 MPH you get to walk across a rickety old bridge to see the lighthouse. Our winds were billowing at 30 MPH so we had to turn around, but we were still close enough to get a great view.
