NetVibes Sidewalk Party
I spent last night at the NetVibes Universe Launch Party. It was the first time I had attended a geek rave, and the party itself was quite the blowout. Although for me, the most valuable part of the evening was my 50-minute wait to get into the party. There was a line around the block at 9:20 p.m. just to get to the doors, which had opened at 9:00 p.m. While in line, I had some interesting conversations with a videographer, an entrepreneur, and a V.C. Now that’s what I call networking!
I finally met the shutterbug, Brian Solis. He’s a party animal and I think he said that this was his fifth party of the evening. I’ve always liked Brian online, so it was great to meet him in person.
I think I was offered a job, but unfortunately the music was so loud that I couldn’t understand exactly what was being said. I just smiled and nodded, so I hope he’s not expecting me to show up for work on Monday.
My thanks to NetVibes (and their investors) for the party.
