I Can’t Read the Label on My Dishwashing Liquid

I saw a public bus yesterday in my small town with a McDonald’s advertisement on the side.  All of the text appeared to be in Vietnamese.  There wasn’t one word of English.  I’m just wondering when all of this nonsense will stop.  I can’t even read the labels on my grocery store items anymore because of the multiple translations.

I love different cultures and languages, but I also think that Americans need to share a common language.  How can we possibly remain strong as a people if we can’t communicate with one another?

What if all of the advertising dollars and all of the public funds that are spent on translations and multiple printings were routed to education?  As a tax payer, I’d even vote for a program to pay people to learn English; it’s that important to me and our country.
