Shannon Whitley began his technical career in the mid-eighties, harnessing the power of the Commodore 64 from his family’s home in rural North Bend, Oregon. He later moved to Southern California where he studied to become an urban planner at the University of California, Irvine. Upon graduation, Shannon worked for several years as a technical writer before returning to school to become a computer programmer.
Working for organizations like Broadway Stores, AT&T Wireless, and Siebel Systems, Shannon specialized in HR Systems and the PeopleSoft ERP software. He has developed solutions using a wide variety of languages and databases, currently preferring C#, JavaScript, Adobe Flex, and MS SQL Server. Shannon has written professionally in the PeopleSoft technical journal, VP1. He currently works for a global law firm where he serves as the HR Systems Lead.

Shannon has developed multiple solutions using the RSS and ATOM formats including FeedMail Now! and Feedlinx. He has also developed a full-scale feed management server named ZipLine.
